BP Medication: One Third People forget to take it

A new research has revealed that almost one third populace suffering from high BP problem; tend to forget their taking daily medication.

The findings established that just half of those, who have blood pressure, concern regarding the situation, but this situation increases to 61pc, when reminded that it increases a risk for heart attack or stroke.

Dr. Angie Brown, Medical Director of Irish Heart Foundation, cautioned that untreated blood pressure can pose like a ticking time bomb and cannot simply lead to a stroke, but, also heart attack, heart failure and kidney disease.

She advises people to stop smoking and get their Bp and cholesterol checked with their G pot healthcare expert.

The good part of it is that BP can be diagnosed very easily and usually is controllable with lifestyle alterations and for a few with medications, if the condition demands.

The survey, which saw a release as part of World Hypertension Day, found that most of those suffering from high BP suffered from it for about 11-12 years.

It suggests that it may have started somewhere in their mid 40s.

Over a-third had high blood pressure in their families and 19pc have had no family history. Those with preceding family experience seem to take the situation more gravely.
