The fast ferry rivalry is mounting, with both operators now presenting travelers with free Wi-Fi internet facility aboard their vessels.
Sydney Ferries run by the State Government is also liable to get Wi-Fi facility to its passengers in June, while competitors Manly Fast Ferry and Sydney Fast Ferries have recently launched the free wireless internet access.
Yesterday, Manly Fast Ferry's Chief Executive, Richard Ford said that free internet access was something that consumers had sought.
Mr. Ford said that they are all quite pleased with it. They get on the ship and they can notice it crop up on their computers or laptops.
He remarked, "It's one of those things we got some customer feedback on, and it's just part of all the little things we are doing to keep the service up and running".
While his clients might be the first to get Wi-Fi access, they are still without roofed waiting rooms, and Mr. Ford said that yesterday's heavy rain showers caused him some apprehension.
He said that it was a bit of a worry, but their numerals are hung in there. They are still continuing and they are in talks with the Manly Wharf group on the subject of putting in covered quarters.
