Hearing the Idol top 3 finalist Bowersox, 24, saying, "That was my goal, and hopefully, mission accomplished", one is immediately reminded of the time when she'd once said that she wanted to reunite with bass player Frankie May at her old haunt, Papa's Tavern. Also, she wanted to see her family in Elliston, Ohio, and thank her fans by singing her original songs; she wanted to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes; and above all, she wanted to move people and lift the spirits of her hometown.
After a few more whirlwind stops, the American Idol contestant received a glass key to the city from Mayor Michael Bell at Bowersox's parade and concert in downtown Toledo. There, she also performed her original song "Holy Toledo", getting airplay from over 5,000 people, singing along and crying.
Finally, Bowersox shed her tears out and let her guard down, onstage. She's been on singing onstage since she was 14 years old. She also performed at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds to make a stump speech for 4,000 fans, which had been followed by lunch at her dad Bill's house, and some quality time with her son, Tony.
Asking for votes from the audience, she admitted that it's all up to them, and not on her, adding that she'll be thankful to receive the ballot. Before her final departure of the day, she performed the national anthem before a record crowd at Toledo Mud Hens.
