Jennifer Hudson is there at Cannes to reveal about her role in an upcoming film, where she is playing the character of Winnie Mandela. The shooting will start in South Africa at the same time as the World Cup kicks off.
On being asked by the Daily Telegraph about David Beckham, she shared that she doesn't know any of the soccer players. She said, "'Of course I know him. Why will he be there? Well, he's not in the squad, but he's going out to South Africa anyway because Fabio wants him in an unofficial coaching role".
Many celebrities at Cannes have got no idea about Beckham. Some say he is a director, while the others opine that he was there for his ridiculous haircut.
Aishwarya Rai looked pretty at the screening of her new film Raavan. Biutiful by Alejandro González Iñárritu, is one of the most anticipated films of this year's festival. But Sukhdev Sandhu, the Telegraph's man in Cannes has viewed its screening and has called it a "laborious stretch of designer depression".
He said, "Recommended - for anyone who's ever hankered to see Bardem wearing a nappy or repeatedly pissing blood into a dirty toilet".
Mr. Oizo, aka Quentin Dupieux, has made a film, called Rubber, which is about homicidal, psychokinetic car tyre on a road trip across America. It is an average movie though.
