Foxtel Chief Executive, Kim Williams states that the internet is not posing to be a foe to TV.

The head of the Australia’s leading pay-tv corporation says that television continues to flourish regardless of the predictions made about its demise.

Mr. Williams particularly clarified by stating that the improvement in quality of product, capability of adapting to changes that occur in an increasingly digital world and the necessities of humankind, share and fully enjoy the stories together.

He as well spoke about subscription TV statistics from the US, which demonstrated the number of pay-tv subscriptions that increased over two million, in the year 2009, regardless of the fact that the world’s economic scenario was not that good.

Here in Australia, the means is also clearly prospering, Mr. Williams informed an American Chamber of Commerce in Australia lunch in Sydney on Thursday.

A few networks are seeing better days than others, however the ratings continue to keep at high point and advertising income has bounced back to strong standing.

Mr. Williams said that internet is an opportunity and rescuer with plans of connecting with consumers.

He thinks that whosoever thinks of internet being a foe to TV is nothing more than a dumb head.
