It was seen that more foster carers were needed in Tameside and fostering fortnight was the chance to come forward and help children.
The campaign was launched by Mayor John Sullivan, which would be running at Ashton town hall till May 31. The campaign would be joined by foster carers and staff from the fostering team.
It was noticed that Tameside fostering service wanted carers for babies; children and young people aged up to 17. They needed a role model to guide them, understand them and provide them with love and attention.
It was seen that a 19 year old boy had been living on his own for 15 months. He moved from Stockport to Hyde at the age of two and was taken into care three years later.
"I’ve had some brilliant carers, both single and married people. The last one in particular, a single male carer was brilliant. I was with him from 14 up to 18 and he was like a proper dad should be. He cared a lot about me and gave me cash for treats, like going to the pictures and money for new United shirts. He was really laid back and like a big kid himself really! ”, said Jack.
He added that if it was not for him he did not know where he would be at present.
