New York - Cinema goers have fallen in love with Marley and Me, the comedy about a lovable but naughty dog starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson.
It topped of the US box office this weekend, bringing in 24 million dollars. The film has already broken the 100-million-dollar mark since opening Christmas Day. No new films graced the charts as holiday hits continued to dominate and studios released no new movies.
Disney comedy Bedtime Stories was in second place with 20.3 million dollars. The film stars Adam Sandler as a man whose fantastic bedtime stories become reality.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, in which Brad Pitt plays a man who is born old and gets younger, earned 18.4 million dollars for third place. The film, which also features Cate Blanchett, is nominated for five Golden Globe, which are to be awarded January 11.
Valkyrie, the thriller starring Tom Cruise in a plot to kill Adolf Hitler, earned 14 million dollars on the weekend for fourth place. It has brought in a total of 60 million dollars. Jim Carrey's comedy Yes Man was in fifth place with 13.8 million dollars in its third week. (dpa)
