The Museum of London has launched a remarkable iPhone app which shows 400 year-old pictures of the capital. This move arrests the attention of thousands of visitors.
The pictures include the view of 19th century street situations and blitz. Also, the slide includes 400-year-old depictions of the Thames.
The NnStreetMuseum thus, now allows the users to see breathtaking archive pictures and paintings of street scenes via their 3G networks.
This app can be downloaded free of cost. It takes the viewers through the historical tour of the royal city London. In addition, the app provides information on other photographs and paintings placed in the museum.
Professor Jack Lohman, Director of the Museum of London shared his excitement over the successful launch of the app and said that it will merge the part and the present adding to the flavor in the city.
"The launch of the Streetmuseum app is an exciting development for the Museum of London, opening our unique collections to new audiences in a thought-provoking and creative manner”, he added.
The Museum will be launching £20 million Galleries of Modern London on May 28.
More than 7,000 objects put together with expressive display will exhibit the changing trends in London.
Streetmuseum can be downloaded from 3G and 3GS iPhones as it is available on iTunes, free of cost.
