Widely popular, social networking site Facebook is reported to be in plans to introduce features intended to offer its hundreds of millions of users simpler privacy choices thereby making it easier for users to select some, though not all, data-sharing features.
It has been facing soaring protests over the way its handles users' personal information and consequently it has raised to it. However, the steps, to be uncovered as early as next week, may not go as far as critics would prefer.
Lawmakers, regulators, privacy watchdogs and even some Facebook users have showered huge criticism over the Internet firm since it unveiled a program that shares user data with three third-party websites.
Andrew Noyes quoted, "Users appreciate having precise and comprehensive controls, but want them to be simpler and easier to use. They also like the new programs we have rolled out, but want simple and easy ways to opt out of sharing personal information with applications and Web sites."
Facebook Friday announced that it would make its privacy choices easier as users find the settings highly befuddling to navigate.
In addition, it's hoped that Facebook will facilitate its user an easier way so that the users may know whether their information is open their friends only, with a broader group or with everyone.
