It was recently seen that the Museum of London had launched its Streetmuseum application for the iPhone.
According to the museum, the application would be providing users a window through time. The users could hold their iPhone up to any one of 200 popular London landmarks and could see the location as it was in the past.
It was seen that the images that were used by the application varied from the Great Fire of London, 1666, to the Swinging Sixties.
On viewing the historical images users could tap the information button and the information would be provided by the Streetmuseum with images. It would be loved by the iPhone users.
It was noticed that the release of the iPhone application marked the opening of the 20 Million Galleries of Modern London exhibition at the museum. Around 7,000 objects were included in the application which highlighted the changes London had experienced over the years.
“This app allows the present and the past to collide and share their secrets. Streetmuseum opens up the city in new and exciting ways. The launch of the Streetmuseum app is an exciting development for the Museum of London”, said The Sun professor Jack Lohman, Director of the Museum of London.
