Given the increased operational costs and directionless approach in the second quarter, Salesforce. com Inc. has reported a 3.7% drop in the profits in the first quarter of this fiscal. The reduction is also supported by high stock compensation amounts and debts.

Company's Chairman and Chief Executive, Marc Benioff has also been dealing with a lawsuit filed by Microsoft Corp. accusing the Company for violating the copyrights.

"Patent trolls are a part of doing business. This is not significant", said Benioff.

It has often been observed that patents aim at following the look and feel of the accused Company. In the case of patents Microsoft, it is seen attacking the look and feel of the things.

This is done usually to displace the accused Company’s products. It is a fact that none out of Apple and Microsoft can allow the other to replicate without challenging its look and feel.

Over here, they would prefer using the litigation than filing lawsuits against all those who copy their style.

Large firms need to build and maintain the intimidation of litigations to ensure that people don’t tend to take advantage of its services.
