It was recently seen that Valve called for ps3. A request was sent by the Managing Director of Valve, Gabe Newell to Sony concerning PS3. It was claimed by the executive of valve that the Company in Japan opened up its technology which was for the sake of Sony as the Companies worked for the PS3 platform.
“The investments in platforms such as Mac, is difficult because you have to know what direction to take that platform. We bet on platforms that leave more clear where we want to be in the coming years. We would love to see a PS3 more open as a Mac instead of a more closed as the Gamecube. It would be easier to justify these investments if that were the case”, commented 5BY5 Newell.
It was noticed that the relationship between Valve and Sony had always been tense and the studio was responsible for Half-Life and Portal.
It was seen that in the past few years Valve did not want to do anything with Sony's console, and had qualified this to laziness on the part of the developer. It was noticed that Newell defended the studio's posture and said the whole situation was complex. It was told that the team would not be working on PS3 games and there were a lot of interesting things about the PS3.
