Apple Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Jobs will speak at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference in June, an indication that Apple might be preparing to launch the next edition of its iPhone, analysts said.
William Kreher, a St. Louis-based Analyst at Edward Jones & Co., said in an interview, "Given Apple's track record, the most likely scenario is that they'll introduce new hardware, in this case the latest iPhone".
The Cupertino, California-based company said today in a statement that Jobs will start off the five-day meeting that begins on June 7.
Apple normally launches products at the incident, called the WWDC.
From the time when Apple first released the iPhone in June 2007, it has proffered a new adaptation every summer. The iPhone 3G that added support for third-generation wireless networks, went for sale in markets in July 2008. An improved edition came in June 2009.
Analysts, Brian Marshall of Broadpoint AmTech, Katy Huberty of Morgan Stanley and Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray & Co. have said that they look forward to a new model in June or July.
Charlie Wolf, a New York-based Needham & Co. Analyst said that the latest iPhone will possibly have enhanced battery life and a front-facing camera.
Wolf said in an interview today that Jobs will most likely demonstrate the gadget during his important address.
