Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region's budget Granted Approval

The Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region's (RQHR) 2010-2011 budgets is revealed to have been granted approval on Wednesday from the Regina Qu'Appelle Regional Health Authority (RQRHA).

Total expenditures are valued at $825 million, marking a rise of $7.3 million, or one per cent over last year.

In addition, it is reported to plan a balanced budget that supports its priorities, which includes giving topmost priority to client experience, contributing to healthy communities, inculcating the habit to create a healthy workplace and ensuring a healthy business.

The RQHR fetched a rise in funding from the Ministry of Health; however, is introducing cuts on operating costs by $11 million with the help of means as managing vacancies, controlling overtime costs and making changes to programs.

The RQHR's balanced capital budget aimed for facility, equipment and technology projects will value at $49 million. Also, it is revealed that it will continue with its construction work on the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care at the Regina General Hospital.

The Ministry of Health will raise financial help for any rises for new collective agreements with CUPE, RWDSU and HSAS, and will be included in the RQHR's budget as per the new agreements.
