Supreme Court Quashed Drug Firm’s Class Action Lawsuit

Canada's highest court has cancelled a drug firm's offer to kill a class action lawsuit filed in B. C.

Wyeth Pharmaceuticals asked the Supreme Court of Canada to sack the carelessness case claiming Canadian courts have no authority over the U. S. based corporation, but the court has ruled that the case can continue.

Wyeth manufactures the hormone therapy drug Premarin which has been linked to breast cancer.

Dianna Louise Stanway from B. C. was diagnosed with the ailment after consuming the drug to ease symptoms of menopause.

She claims that the business failed to caution her regarding the dangers of taking Premarin, as well as manufacturing the drug without appropriate testing.
