Realizing Microsoft's sad mobile position is not just a product failure but a potential loss of relevance in the computing world of the future, CEO Steve Ballmer, has vowed to revive the Company's mobile position.

Reports confirm that Microsoft has made the announcement that the software maker would release its next mobile operating system in the second half of the current year.

According to Ballmer the OS which is also known as the Windows Phone 7 would be available in the latter part of 2010. The Windows Phone 7 was unveiled in February at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona by Ballmer.

Reports claim that the software features a start screen which in case of receiving real-time feeds from the Internet's most popular social networking sites, like Facebook and Twitter, rejects the static icons. The software also offers 24x7 access to the e-mail, Xbox games, Bing search, and other essential tools.

Walking on the footsteps of arch rival Apple, company sources claim that Microsoft aims at launching an online store through which the customers can purchase and download applications for Windows Phone 7 devices.

In order to have a mass appeal, Microsoft is expected to include SilverLight multimedia format and XNA games language in the new Windows Phone 7.

According to the industry experts, Microsoft is in dire need that the Windows Phone 7 becomes a hit as by the way of this mobile device, the company can regain its lost market share.
