Brit Beauty Contestant Rises to Warns Women of Sunbeds

A British beauty queen contestant has risen to warn against the potential risks posed by constant sunbathing after she was diagnosed with skin cancer at a mere age of 24 after using sunbeds for a number of years.

Amy Hills, who was a Miss York finalist, claimed that she often goes for an artificial tan at least once a week without applying any sun screen on her skin.

However, after a few years she discovered that a mole on her arm appeared differently, bringing it to the notice of her doctor.

“The doctor called in with a colleague to have a look, and they both said it needed to be removed as a matter of urgency. When the test results came back saying it was cancer I was in a state of shock. The doctors said they were sure it was it was my sunbed sessions and sunbathing without lotion that had led to this”, she explained.

Consequently, she had to undergo surgery which assisted in preventing the disease to further exacerbate.

Hills underwent her surgery last week is believed to be lucky that the cancer had not spread, however, she will need constant checks.
