Verizon Wireless iPhone will not be announced June 7, when Steve Jobs will be unveiling the next-generation iPhone. A sample of the device was exposed and analyzed by tech blog Gizmodo. com last month.
Apple analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray shared that Apple has "little room for surprise" at the June 7 event, with the information regarding the new phone has already been out.
There would be surprise for sure but Verizon Wireless announcement is unlikely. Towards the end of this year, AT&T is to sell the iPhone in the United States, but neither Apple nor the wireless carrier has clarified about the agreement being extended.
He wrote, "We believe that it is unlikely that the next generation iPhone will be available at Verizon (or Sprint) at launch. Rather, it is more likely that it remains exclusively available at AT&T in the U. S. at launch".
A consumer iPhone survey found that "substantial pent-up iPhone demand" for the device will be carried by Verizon Wireless.
Verizon is toiling hard to get its fourth-generation, or 4G, network in place before AT&T. AT&T has proposed to start offering its 4G network in 2011, but has conducted general upgrades to its third-generation, or 3G, network.
