Wal-Mart Undertakes Price Cuts to Gain Back Customers

Wal-Mart has been depending upon $1 ketchup bottles and sub-$4 Coke packages in order to regain its low-price mojo back. Following the deep drops prior to the Memorial weekend; the shopping rivals have already priced the products higher.

The analysts have been expecting the markdowns to approach throughout the summer. This will come out to be the biggest such move in the history of Wal-Marts’ business.

However, the cuts are not likely to be applied to all the stores, but 22 food items and other required items would contribute to the savings by up to 30%. This is sufficient enough to attract the attention of the buyers. It has already been winning customers from the rivals.

The pioneering retailer of the world will also be reconsidering the stocks of items like certain soups and laundry detergent which had been removed earlier.

Basic clothing like socks and undergarments will be promoted to the maximum extent.

During the recession, Wall Mart lost customers to the lesser expensive stores. In order to hold the customer base in times of recovery, it is undertaking such measures.
