JVC will exhibit its super-slim and light LCD, for the forthcoming 32” LCD televisions, at the Consumer Electronics Show to be held this week in Las Vegas. The LCD TV prototype will be put on view from January 7 to January 10 at a private venue other than the main CES showroom.
According to the company, the 11 lbs LCD is merely 7 mm, or 0.28 inches, in thickness. The compact size of the LCD, the company feels would make it possible “to enhance visual environments in places where heavy displays are difficult to install, such as public spaces, amusement facilities, outlets, companies, schools and houses.”
Though the new device provides the same optical and heat-dissipation features as the present JVC 32” displays, it makes use of nearly 10% fewer LCD module parts, and 50 percent less material resources.
Moreover, in tune with the existing industry inclination, power-efficient LEDs have been used as a light source for the latest LCD.
The inherent next-generation technology of the LCD would provide increased flexibility to the consumers, along with a more extensive choice of options in the design of both commercial and household visual environments. The company said the new technology has been used for commercializing LCD solutions that augment eco-friendly visual lifestyles.
