A considerable number of Dameron Hospital's 360 enrolled nurses represented by the California Nurses Association say that their union is not sufficiently symbolizing their views and they have no plan of going on a strike next Thursday.
In the meantime, Dameron management is going alongside the proposals to slim down admissions and surgeries to just support the emergency department and emergency operations at the 202-bed hospital.
According to Chief Operating Officer, Nick Arismendi, its everyday poll on Wednesday of 110 patients is a noteworthy diminution from the 165-185 patients, which are ordinary for the day.
The disposition amongst all hospital workers varied from surprise to fury to tears as buzz of the trimming down multiplied on Tuesday afternoon and evening, a lot of workers said on Wednesday.
Arismendi substantiated that some workers have not been summoned in for work, and that figure will rise as the daily opinion poll minimizes.
The Oakland-based, CNA lodged an official strike notice with the self-governing, community-based hospital declaring that nurses approved a strike during a vote held on May 14.
CNA Labor Representative, Marti Smith said that "the strike at Dameron is over issues at Dameron" and is not related with the countrywide labor movement.
