Colman Died When His Ex Pulled Plug on His Life Support

The lawyer of Gary Coleman, the "Diff'rent Strokes" star, announced that Coleman was no longer married to the woman who gave doctors the push to pull the plug on his life support. Though, the hospital stated that his ex-wife, Shannon Price, had the power to do so.

The 42 year old Coleman and the 24 year old Price split on Aug. 12, 2008, legally. After two years, he went into coma as he fell in their Utah home last week and suffered a brain hemorrhage, as per the court papers obtained by "Entertainment Tonight”.

Coleman's lawyer, Randy Kester said, “Initially, it concerned me, because it seemed like it [the hospitalization] was a pretty short-term thing”.

Coleman died last Friday and had managed to complete an advanced directive that granted Price permission to make medical decisions for him, as per a statement from the Utah hospital, where he breathed his last.

The statement said, “An advanced health-care directive remains in effect regardless of a patient's marital status, unless modified by the patient”.

An emergency dispatcher had to plead with Price to help Coleman, according to a 911 tape, which was released and led to new developments.
