Yahoo Chief Architect Raymie Stata Promoted to Chief Technology Officer

Yahoo Chief Architect Raymie Stata filled the role vacated by Ari Balogh, as he has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer. Stata talked about Yahoo’s roadmap for the future in an interview with Venturebeat at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference last week.

He said that their goal is to create a personally relevant experience for their users.

Yahoo’s editorial strength will be joined to attain and develop technology in the area, with this focus on personalization. The editorial process on the front page was described by him as, “half man half machine”.

The Company’s personalization efforts include its partnerships with Facebook. Stata assured that the Company might develop the integration to its other properties.

Stata said, “A challenge for us is that we don’t smother them, that we don’t take our editorial processes and just drop it on what they’re doing that messes up their secret sauce”.

Stata is doubtful about the notion that Yahoo is abandoning search, pertaining to its partnership in search with Microsoft. The company acquired his startup Stata Labs IN 2004, and Stata joined Yahoo in the same year. He has played a major role in growth of Yahoo’s search, advertising, and cloud computing products.
