Skype and Kazaa Founders’ Social Music Service Opens to Fresh Round of Users

Rdio said in a blog post on Wednesday that it is soon beginning its social music service to a latest round of users.

Kazaa and Skype founders Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström have created the service, and it lets users to share their choice of music with friends, and gives access to music through a Web-based customer for PCs, iPhones and some BlackBerry devices.

According to the blog post, the phones can also store the music for later playback offline, and an Android application can be expected.

It has been said that Rdio has also been incorporated with social networks, so that users are able to share links to music via Twitter and Facebook.

It is said that listening to the music needs a subscription, invited users can choose between Rdio Unlimited, which comes with a price tag of US$9.99 per month and runs on the Web and some smartphones, and Rdio Web, which comes with a price tag of $4.99 per month.

The blog post says that initially, only U. S. will have the service, but other parts of the globe will follow in the coming future.

According to the Company, however, Rdio has biggest music Companies EMI Music, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, including number indie aggregators of digital music on its side.
