In order to train and educate the first responders for handling the on the electrical vehicles, Chevrolet and OnStar, in association with International Association of Fire Fighters recently launched a training program.
It has been informed that the training sessions will be attributing the upcoming Chevy Volt. The session will be held in Chicago by August and first-responder sessions will them be performed in the other major cities.
Also, in the staring of June, Volt displays will also appear at various emergency industry conferences.
In the sessions, with the animations and illustrations of the Volt, the cut points for extrication will be demonstrated, also, first-responder labeling, automatic and manual electric shut-offs, and other features crucial to a proper emergency response will be shown and taught to the participants.
Chief Jack Parow, first Vice President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs stated that technological changes in the automotive industry also call for a change in the fire and emergency service operations.
Parow expressed that the organization is proud of assisting Chevrolet and OnStar in an effort to make sure that the fire responders are properly trained about the new technology so that they can ensure the safety of those they serve and themselves as well.
Major Volt retail markets in places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Detroit and Washington, D. C will be witnessing this session.
