Valve Announces an E3 'Surprise'

Valve Software's first presentation at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is reported to have been stopped, being replaced by what is being called as "surprise."

Valve, owner of the PC and Mac game distribution network Steam and the manufacturer and publisher behind the Half-Life and Left 4 Dead series, had its June 14 presentation at its E3 stage debut.

Initially slated as a reveal of the upcoming Portal 2, a follow-up to the 2007 hit Portal,

"Even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise," covers the press release made by Valve professing to be from Aperture Science, the advanced technology company featured in the first game.

Portal 2 has witnessed a series of mischievous comments after the company first used a cluster of radios into the original game in March, which was revealed to contain coded hints similar to the nature of a sequel.

G4TV have been appointed as Expo's official broadcaster, and their coverage will be aired on G4TV.

Also, the previously slated June 14th pre-E3 event is reported to be canceled because of a “surprise” of some sort thereby making many who are anticipating more information on Valve’s Portal 2 disappointed.
