A new sci-fi movie raises a lot of disturbing issues and will surprise most of the viewers. The movie looks like it has been inspired from Frankenstein.
In the movie, Clive and Elsa are two prominent genetic engineers apart from also each other's love interest. These characters are played by Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. In the movie, both these characters are famous for working on animal DNA to develop new creatures and also producing proteins which can be patented for medical use.
But when both of them approach the Company that funds their research along with a proposal to experiment with human DNA, they are stooped fearing public outrage. But both of them secretly go ahead to develop a human-animal hybrid.
The movie is directed by Vincenzo Natali who is also the co-writer of the movie. The movie explores themes like nature versus nurture, the sanctity of life versus the seemingly justifiable need to terminate it. It also explores the disturbing theme of interspecies sexual attraction.
From an early stage thing go wrong when Clive and Elsa reveal their animal creations. These are named as Fred and Ginger and these creatures have mutated which is unknown to their creators.
The movie boasts of nice visual effects which will be appreciated by most of the viewers. It looks to be a cross between Alien and early David Lynch movies.
