Hollywood received a massive setback with the death of Dennis Hopper, popularly known as the 'Mainstream Rebel Actor and Director'.
Reports confirm that on May 29, Dennis Hopper at 74 died following an illness from prostate cancer.
Dennis Hopper who was known for his mainstream rebellious ways was highly appreciated by his fellow colleagues in the film fraternity.
Paying a tribute to the legendary actor, Turner Classic Movies has brought forth a 'Dennis Hopper Night'. For all the Hopper fans and the event on Turner Classic Movies would be one of the top reasons for owning a television set in the 21st century.
TCM's Dennis Hopper night would begin with two John Wayne films. At 8 p. m., the movie 'The Sons of Katie Elder' from 1965 directed by Henry Hathaway would be aired. The abuse of a young, supremely detestable Hopper had suffered from James Deanitis, and caused himself to be informally blackballed from Hollywood movies for the next seven years.
Hopper proved his mettle in 'True Grit' that would be aired at 10:15 p. m.
Hopper gave unremarkable performances in both.
For wire services and TV, Dennis Hopper was predictably treated as the ultimate druggy rebel, which he always hoped he would seem.
Hopper directed handful of movies like 'Colors', 'The Hot Spot', 'Out of the Blue' and 'Chasers', all of them do not really qualify for a revolutionist's filmography.
But one cannot simply ignore him both an actor and a director, as he was a rebel truly without a cause.
