Microsoft to End Bing Cashback

Microsoft has announced that it will be stopping Bing Cashback feature from July 30, due to lack of interest from users. It stressed that the response generated by the offer was not something which was anticipated by the Company. This was confirmed by Yusuf Mehdi, Senior Vice President of Microsoft's Online Audience Business Group.

It started in May 2008 and was christened as Live Search Cashback. It provided cash back to users for purchase made through the Microsoft search engine. The feature attracted more than 1,000 merchant partners but did not receive an enthusiastic response from the users.

The Company pointed that it will assess the details of this program and will aim to come up with good shopping experience for the consumers. Further, the opportunities for advertisers are also being considered. It claimed to provide more details about these programs in the coming days.

People who have earned cashback can get the same redeemed in the next 12 months. Microsoft would also be offering 12 months of customer support.
