What Apple Inc. is for the iPhone, HTC Corp. is becoming for smartphone market. The demand for Sprint Nextel Corp.'s HTC EVO 4G was heavy, as long queues were witnessed in Sprint stores.
The launch, last week, also overloaded Sprint's account-activation system plus it resulted in spot shortages. This launch was planned after the late-April launch of Verizon Wireless's Droid Incredible.
The Taiwan-based HTC is still struggling to erect its name outside the wireless industry.

Another reason of celebration for the Company is its status in three of the top four U. S. wireless operators.
The Monday’s launch of Apple will no doubt be the most highlighted event, but at the same time, reviewers admit that HTC is also no less and is a good competitor.
Manager of Sprint's Phone Selection comments, “Where there used to be nothing, now they're a force to be reckoned with”.
Noting HTC's growing influence, John Harrobin, a Senior Vice President at Verizon Wireless said that HTC has improved a lot in terms of software and device capabilities. The Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications Inc. and Vodafone Group PLC.
