In a recent report, Sony Computer Entertainment and Square Enix are being sued over claims that the game, Final Fantasy XIII is crashing and permanently bricking PS3 consoles.
Daniel Wolf, of San Diego claims that his copy of Square's RPG made his machine inoperable. This happened after he tried to save his campaign development and his console stopped working. According to the lawsuit, the game has been causing "severe and widespread damage" to PS3s. The lawsuit seeks over $5 million in damages and various financial reliefs.
The lawsuit also states that both Defendants are eminently aware of the damage being cause by their defective products, and have chosen to do nothing about it.
As it is a class action suit, the money will be divided among those who join hands with him. These freezes have been reported for some time, mostly by YouTube users. With one user Mamotz saying that he was very excited to play the game, but to his dismay the game crashed the Console.
However, both Sony and Square are reluctant to talk about the lawsuit. Both are blaming each other for the fault. Square says that the reason is faulty PS3s and Sony is putting it down to corrupt discs. Neither of the Company is willing to shell out money for the repair of the consoles.
