Pandora 2.0 Releases Its Most Significant UpdatePandora Radio, one of the most popular iPhone apps on the iTunes App Store, released its most significant update on Tuesday, 6 January, 2009.

Commenced in July, the updated Pandora Radio, popularly dubbed Pandora 2.0 will now offer artist biographies, streaming samples of the songs that people have bookmarked, and ability to create a station using a single song.

Pandora 2.0 will offer a CoverFlow-like view for song history, and a song progress bar. It will also enable its users to share stations with friends using Email.

Pandora Radio or Pandora 2.0 is an automated music recommendation and Internet radio service powered by the Music Genome. It enables its users to buy the songs or albums at Amazon MP3, Amazon. com (for CDs), or iTunes Store. The service offers professional musicians to describe each song using over 150 attribute (or "genes").

Pandora launched a mobile version of its software for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch thru iTunes App Store on July 11, 2008. Its iPhone app was ranked as iTunes' top free application overall. On December 3, 2008, Pandora confirmed that its application has been downloaded and installed by 2 million iPhone users.
