As per the latest reports, two of the most influential women are battling it out for the GOP nomination for U. S. Senate.

It is reported that the front-runners to lead the Republican Party are two wealthy women, namely, Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina.

Meg Whitman is the former Chief Executive of eBay, while Carly Fiorina holds the prestigious designation of an Ex- CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

It is believed that, till now, Whitman has spent about $10 million from her own bank account for the campaigns.

With this move Whitman has gained an edge over her competitors and the State Insurance Commissioner, Steve Poizner expressed her gratitude for spending a large sum from her personal fortune.

In the race for the GOP nomination for U. S. Senate, Fiona has got the attention of the conservative voters, by expressing her views on abortion, guns and gay marriage. However, she would face a difficult task in order to dethrone the current Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer.

It is reported that both Brown and Poizner have public events in the pipeline; however, in an unusual move, Whitman has no public appearances planned for her.

The campaign of Whitman claimed that she would shun the typical Election Day photo-op as she has cast her mail-in ballot, already.

Being criticized for her poor voting record, Whitman acknowledged that she did not cast her vote for a major part of her life.

Anticipating expensive and difficult campaigns for the governor and U. S. Senate, the Democrats are raising huge sums of money.

Reports claim that both Whitman and Fiorina have assured to cut Government spending in their respective campaigning efforts.
