Adobe to Fix the Flash Troubles

It has been announced by Adobe that it will be fixing a serious problem in Flash on Thursday, following which, a patch fixing for handling similar problems will be introduced in Reader and Acrobat, towards the end of the month.

Adobe Security Personnel, Brad Arkin posted in his blog that the tailored scrap has been designed for implementing the Reader and Acrobat update on July 13. This update is a part of Company's inclusive periodical patch.

Arkin informed that he initially considered a quick patch for Reader and Acrobat with Flash Player, but it was then decided that the fixes will be launched into the quarterly patch. It is set to commence on June 29.

Offering two important patch releases in a small period of few weeks, he said, would have created disputes for Adobe customers. He said that he also thought of option for release of “one-off zero-day fix followed a couple of weeks” with the update on July 13.

However, he stated that this would have implied to launch of two patches within three weeks and this, in turn would have posed more troubles for management and the customers as well.

According to security experts, the problem in Flash Player was important because there was a possibility that it is used in “attacks known as drive-by downloads”. The problem was with Flash, Reader and Acrobat.
