Gartner asks Businesses to Move to Windows 7

Microsoft is hoping to revive the trust of its customers through Windows 7. Microsoft's ,earlier operating system ,Windows Vista, is reported to have had limited sales.

There are many similarities between both the systems. However, Windows 7 is reported to be an improved version of Windows Vista. Microsoft is planning to depart with Windows XP by April 2014. So the sales of Windows 7 becomes all the more crucial for Microsoft.

Also analysts at Gartner have warned that by the end of the year 2012, XP will not be supported by many more suppliers' applications.

Many organizations are planning to move towards Windows 7. The reason behind the move is that Windows XP is getting older and the Company has no plans of launching Windows 8.

Vice President of the firm Gartner, Michael Silver is of the view that many organizations are still unsure of when to move towards Windows 7.

Mr. Sliver also disclosed that there is a need for the organizations to examine whether Windows 7 support is provided by their software suppliers. Also the businesses should keep 12 to 18 months' time for planning and testing the operating system so that they can decide a sensible date to start.
