Gary Coleman had made it very clear that though in life he was surrounded by Hollywood users and hangers-on, he did not want to have any links with them after he died.
He filed a two-page will, in a Provo, Utah, court, wherein he demanded for his remains to be cremated, and then made a list as to ,who all would be welcome at his wake and who all were not required.
The actor sought only "those who have no financial ties to me and who can look each other in the eyes and say they really cared personally for Gary Coleman. I direct my personal representative to permit no members of the press to be present at my wake or funeral”, the will stated.
The 1999 document, employed Dion Mial, 46, his former Manager, as perpetrator of his domain, hence endowing him with extensive powers to set interment plans in action, review the cost of the property and choose as to how any wealth is to be paid out according to a trust, the particulars of which were not exposed.
The star of Diff'rent Strokes anyhow died moderately ruined, with his chief property being his $315,000 Utah home.
Mial's attorney, Kent Alderman made it clear before the people that before any money were handed over to the trust his medical and funeral bills had to be covered.
Now it is left to see if Coleman's parents, Sue, 67, and Willie Coleman, 71, who were not in touch with him since 1995, would be invited for the funeral. The will, however, has no mention of his parents. It was Mial who Coleman's parents once held responsible for spinning their son against them in the late '80s.
