A Unite Union Official has confirmed that British Airways cabin crew is launching another strike ballot. However, their leaders are reported to be initiating huge efforts to reconcile with the airline as the final stage of industrial action ends at Heathrow Airport.
Unite, which represents BA cabin crew, posted that the legal protection granted to employees who go on strike ends till 12 weeks and will expire on 11 June.
Union members initiated with the 22nd day of the ballot on Wednesday in the long-running fight which has made the Company to face a loss of more than £150 million, with further action likely to come out this summer unless the deadlock ends.
The airline's Chief Executive, Willie Walsh has revealed to introduce cuts in business and first-class fares, however, promised to "keep the flag flying" during the summer.
The two sides were witnessed to remain adamant over their own points over the impact of the strikes, with BA claiming it was running 80% of long-haul flights from Heathrow, despite the industrial action, while Unite posted that BA could not operate 43% of its reduced schedule on Tuesday.
Unite has uncovered that nearly 60 crew members had now been suspended and eight shown the doors in recent weeks, just because of some unimportant issues, along with charging the airline of a "crackdown" on union members.
