Hyperactivity Disorder in Children on Rise

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder has become very common these days. According to experts, the number of children with such disorders is increasing every year and the percentage of this increment is 10%. About 150 new patients visit to Psychiatry Departments of hospitals every year.

Recently a family shifted to India from Canada. After very few days, their kid was diagnosed with this disorder, when the kid was taken to the Child Guidance Clinic at Fortis Hospital; it was also found that the disorder caused by the complications, which the kid had to face in changing his circumstances and surroundings. Parents then were suggested to provide the caffeine-free diet to the kid.

Cases of hyperactivity like these, are not very rare these days, rather the number is increasing. A person facing this disorder tends to make silly mistakes and finds it difficult to concentrate on something. But it should not be considered that all the hyperactive kids face this disorder. Kids aged 3 to 18 are normal, if they show symptoms of hyperactivity.

The studies have also revealed that four to five percent of children with this disorder hail from the cities. This disorder can be blamed for low level of performance in the studies, as many kids with this disorder are not treated in time.
