A new study claims that men are more sensitive than, earlier thought. It is claimed that they also suffer more when a relationship ends. It was also found that men who are in their early twenties find it very hard to deal with broken relationships. They even feel more traumatic than women in dealing with these problems.
The main reason for this is that men lack the support of others, while women have a closer network of relationships to deal with these problems. Women also rely more on friends and family, as compared to young men.
It was also revealed that this has a significant impact on the young men's identity and self-worth. This means that men are more emotionally vulnerable as against the women.
Researchers claimed that men were more affected from these relationships as they do not rely on anyone closely. Women tend to have a better support system as compared to men.
Young men also do not like to confide in anyone and this also makes them feel more isolated in case of a break up. It was also pointed out that men were also likely to derive emotional benefits from a happy relationship.
For this study, researchers' analyzed 1,000 unmarried adults aged 18-23. It was also found that men who were not employed were more likely to derive their sense of identity form personal relationships.
