It has been reported that ITV is going to broadcast its content on every possible podium and it is also launching a 30-day catch up service of ITV player, which will be available on the mobile phone devices. The app is likely to arrive in September and it will not be a free service.
According to the sources, people who will use the service will just have to pay once and then the app will be available on a daily basis with something new every day, along with advertisements. This year in February, BBC had unveiled that it was working on the apps for the iPhone, which will allow the users to see live TV and people will also be able to enjoy its catch-up TV service, BBC iPlayer on their mobile phones.
But in March, BBC preferred to hold the service over fears that they would receive challenges from commercial rivals. ITV said it was in a view of options that would make sure its spectators could watch content on a range of platforms, according to their lifestyles. "We want to make our content available when and where consumers want to watch it”, said ITV
ITV is also likely to be in talks with Sony for making their new ITV player accessible through its Playstation 3 console, which previously proposes the BBC iPlayer.
