Scotland Aims to Meet National Target of Renewable Energy

To meet the target for production of steel, citizens and communities in China were expected to reuse scrap metal in 1950s. But this step of China led to huge dislocation of economic resources and the manufacture of low-quality steel.

In the same way, Scottish Government has passed a new scheme, in which citizens are supposed to recycle food waste for the purpose of energy production. Government has come up with this new scheme, not only to produce energy but to also follow the national goal, which aims to use renewable energy.

Due to extensive introduction of refrigeration technologies, food wastage has declined massively. In future, spoiling of crops can also be reduced by the GM technologies. This will increase the food storage life and the wastage will be automatically less. Unfortunately, in Scotland the GM technology is prohibited.

Regrettably, the use of GM technology is banned by decree in Scotland, as is the use of clean nuclear power for the efficient production of energy. The Government of Scotland also has zero waste plans, which aims at handling 20 million tons of waste produced by Scots every year.

This waste material can be used to create products and for the production of renewable energy, heat and fertilizer, rather than using it as a landfill element.
