From now, the persons wearing rubber boots will not require to carry the chargers of their cell phones along with them. They can charge their cell phones by using a new technology.
In other words, the heat produced by rubber boots will create an electrical current that can charge up your cell phone.
The research was conducted by UK’s mobile phone Company, Orange in partnership with GotWind. The technology will be promoted at UK Glastonbury music festival.
With this new research, charging a mobile phone to be used for one hour will take about twelve hours, which is quite a long time.
The charging process will make use of thermoelectric modules that will make a thermocouple. They will be then coupled with electrically to form variety of thermocouples.
After that, thermopiles are placed between two ceramic wafers, and then by making use of the heat of the feet, electricity is engendered.
Andrew Pearcey, Orange's Head of Sponsorship, said, "Orange remain loyal to the green ethos and are committed to researching exciting new energy sources that can be used on site to ensure people can stay in touch with their nearest and dearest".
