People in New Zealand will be able to watch a partial lunar eclipse, this month. It will happen on June 26 and during the eclipse, almost 50% will be hidden by the shadow of planet Earth.
The eclipse will be between 10.30p. m and 12.30a. m and the middle eclipse will occur at 11.38p. m. The upcoming eclipse will be visible across New Zealand.
The last lunar eclipse was not visible to everyone and it was witnesses on December 31, last year. The other lunar eclipse which will take place on December 21 will only be witnessed by the people in New Zealand’s northern part.
The Stardome Observatory will be offering special shows for the public during the night of the eclipse. The tickets will be priced at $10 for the show. People may also be explained how these lunar eclipses occur and children will really like this show.
If the weather is appropriate, the show will also include a free viewing of the lunar eclipse with the help of telescopes, which will be kept outside. Astronomy experts feel that watching the eclipse would be interesting and full of fun.
It is also been confirmed that watching this lunar eclipse from the eyes will be safe and people need not be worried about it. Most of the astronomers are expected to attend this upcoming event and they feel that children should come and experience this event themselves.
