The strike of the lock making unit of Honda will not affect the functioning in the China Honda Motor over the weekend. It was informed by the China Spokesman, Takayuki Fujii that the car plant will stay open. After the strike, production in two of Honda’s Chinese car factories was ceased for two days this week as the Company faced a shortage in the parts from a supplier.
Fujii said that the work and production, like Saturday, will run as per the expected schedule on Sunday.
It was reported by the official Xinhua news agency that strike at lock factory also continued on Saturday and that it can stop Honda's car assembly operations in China.
Regarding discussions with the workers about the strike, it has been said that Senior Executives of Honda will be visiting the supplier's plant in South China on Sunday.
Fujii revealed nothing about the functioning of the plant next week, if the strike continues. Following a three-day public holiday, Saturday and Sunday are formally working days in the country.
Also, the owner of the lock plant said on Friday that the present available inventory of the locks can only last till Saturday and that the Company has not yet sketched the plans for production after that.
