All attention in the video-game world is about to shift to Los Angeles for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the biggest video-game trade exhibition in the globe.
And Canada intends to have its share of the limelight.
Danielle Parr, Executive Director of the Entertainment Software Association of Canada, said that E3 is the only principal forum for video-game manufacturers to display their games to worldwide viewers.
He said, "Year after year, a significant proportion of the hottest, most talked about games at the show are made in Canada, cementing Canada's reputation as one of the best places in the world to make video games".
Parr said that Canada's presentation at the exhibition aids in luring investment and prestigious projects, in addition to top talent in the $60-billion business.
Canada is the globe's third-largest manufacturer of video games, after Japan and the U. S., hiring more than 14,000 people in video game growth.
The world's two biggest game expansion studios have a considerable Canadian existence, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. They run two of the largest booths at E3 to flaunt their games, together with a lot of made-in-Canada best-sellers.
EA that has studios in Burnaby and Montreal will be displaying the second title in its successful workout video-game franchise, EA Sports Active 2.0.
