Necklaces recalled by SickKids Foundation

SickKids FoundationSickKids foundation has recalled the star- shaped necklaces given at Santa Claus parade in Toronto. It was found that the necklaces pose choking danger to kids.

The illuminated necklaces could break apart and thus pose danger.

The necklaces were given at the pre- parade breakfast and along the parade route. The foundation has urged the caretakers to destroy and discard the necklaces. The foundation has also tendered apology to the parents and children for the inconvenience. It has also requested for an understanding approach by them.

SickKids had approved the prototype of the necklace. However, the necklaces were not re tested before distribution.

The foundation has also confirmed that no injury report had been received regarding the use of the necklace.
