A Fair Work Australia has been filed by The Australian Services Union against Canon. This complain by ASU is filled in regard to the Canon’s plan to shift its staff to its newly signed integrator CSG, a Japanese imaging giant.
Canon had earlier, disclosed its plans of transferring around 40 technicians to CSG in order to maintain a multi- function device deal of billion Dollars.
Under a collective agreement with Canon, all the technicians should be discussed before making any transfer in their jobs. In this case, however, Canon did not make any consultation with the technicians.
Jo Justo, National Industrial Officer of ASU has said that Canon has not given sufficient information of the nature of work in CSG. She said that only some of the technicians were told about their job transfer from July 1.
"Canon has not fulfilled their obligations in terms of being transparent in the transmission process”, Jo Justo, told iNews.
National Workplace Relations Tribunal, Fair Work Australia will be hearing the case today.
On the Other Hand, Senior General Manager of marketing for Canon has said that the rights of workers were kept into consideration under the Company’s agreement with CSG. He said that the entire technician workforce has been consulted.
