Ketan Desai Admitted in AIIMS for Infection Treatment

Former Medical Council of India Chief, Dr. Ketan Desai, has been admitted in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences as he developed a bacterial infection on his face. He was held under the charges of his alleged involvement in a graft case and sent to the Tihar Jail.

He was admitted in AIIMS on June 11. The doctors told that he had developed a pus cavity over his eye.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has been probing Mr. Desai’s case, looking for those who received the privileges from him, when he attempted to take a bribe from a college for a recognition endowment.

Mr. Desai was arrested in April following the alleged revelation of his bribe demand. CBI has been scrutinizing the documents of the medical colleges which have received the grants in over the last two years.

“Desai showed favors to Sree Balaji Medical College of Chennai, Bhaskar Medical College of Hyderabad, Index Medical College of Indore, Vinayaka Missions Medical College and some more”, said CBI.

Laxmi Narayan Medical College of Chennai, Adesh Institute of Medical Science and Research of Bathinda, KPC Medical College of Kolkata and Geetanjali Medical College of Udaipur are the other colleges receiving the grant from him.
