Sainsbury trailing equal to Tesco

These days Sainsbury firm is trailing equal to market leader Tesco and ASDA on account of their revenues, as it is getting better-than-expected results through its new stores, as well as through the great going online business growth and in non-food sales arena.

However, the firm is riding over the joyous ride amongst the stiff market conditions and the competitors as well. During the economic turmoil the supermarket platter have felt the crunch by a big drop in the food price inflation in past months, along with the plunge in the petrol prices, which made the shoppers to cut back on the groceries.

The shoppers were in dilemma regarding the steps to rein in government debt, which is likely to higher taxes and public spending cuts that could affect the spending in the coming months.

According to the Sainsbury firm running approximately 525 supermarkets and 300 convenience stores, the sales at the newly opened stores rose by 1.1 percent excluding fuel, and including VAT sales tax, in the 12 weeks to June 12.

The figures seem to be in line with the broad defined figure entailed by Tesco on Tuesday.

The Tesco firm does not adjust the sales for an accounting rule that take into account the loyalty cards which would slightly depress the growth.
