News Corporation of Rupert Murdoch wants to takeover BSkyB

The News Corporation of Rupert Murdoch is willing to take the full control over the satellite broadcaster BSkyB by capturing the 60.9% shares of the company. But it has not been finalized yet.

The initial offer from News Corporation of 700 pence per share was rejected by BSkyB. By such stake sale, BSkyB could raise 12 billion Euros form the News Corporation. BSkyB has made it very clear that it wants a minimum of
800 pence per share.

The talks are now expected to resume when the deal will reach 800 pence per share. After the announcement of this news, the shares of BSkyB have gone up by 16.6%.

The News Corporation is also the owner of Times, Sun and News of the World news papers. The agreement between BSkyB and News Corporation would fulfill in some way, the ambition of the owner of News Corporation Mr. Murdoch but the deal needs to be approved from the regulators as well. A successful deal would strengthen the media power of Mr. Murdoch.

According to the market experts, the addition of BSkyB in to the News Corporation would make Mr. Murdoch's News Corporation the most powerful media group amongst the entire traditional media group.
